How old do I have to be to participate?
Delmarva Dirt Dash is open to participants who are 16 years of age or older. Runners ages 12-15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

What should I wear during the event?
Since you will get wet several times during the event, a dry wicking fabric such as Under Armor will give you the most comfort.

 

What should I NOT wear?

Since this a family friendly event, we ask that participants do not run shirtless, or in just a sports bra.

What kind of shoes should I wear?
A running shoe with a good tread will help you in the mud.  Your shoes will get muddy, so if you wear a pair that can be washed, it will make clean up easier for you.  No football or golf style cleats may be worn. 

Can I wear gloves?
Yes. Most people find a cheap pair of wide-receiver style gloves can be very helpful with the climbing portions of obstacles.

Is there a dry bag check?

No, please plan accordingly!

Can I go around obstacles that I can’t do?
Yes, you can.  Remember though that part of the fun of doing an event like this is conquering your fears and doing things that you didn’t know you could do. If competing for the prize a penelty of 15 burpees must be paid for any obstacles skipped.

Is this a race?
There are both competitive and non-competitve.

What kind of merchandise is there?
Competitors will get a Delmarva Dirt Dash shirt when they register, and a Delmarva Dirt Dash finisher’s medal. Participants can also pre-order one additional tech shirt for $10 when registering.

Is there an after party?
Yes! Lots of great food for purchase, and a chance to exchange war stories.  Sorry, no alcohol at this event though.  In addition, we are a smoke-free campus! 

     The annual Spring Festival is also taking place that day. Plan to arrive early for their famous All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast to fuel up                  before the run, or plan to stick around after and check out the food and craft booths, auction, and live music. 

What do I need to bring with me to registration?
Please bring an official photo ID with you.  Driver’s license, military ID or a passport are acceptable forms of ID. 

Can I just show up and register the day of the event?
Yes. Day of registration is availiable. Although we highly encourage you to register before hand to make it easier on everyone 

When is registration pick up?
Saturday morning. Please come at least 30 min before your scheduled start time to register.

Are you a member of the media and want to cover Delmarva Dirt Dash?
Members of the news media are welcome to attend this event. Please contact the Race Director at 302-858-8235 to obtain the necessary press credentials or arrange an interview. Professional photography intended for resale should be approved by Delmarva Dirt Dash before the event. 

Can I get a refund? I can’t make it that day or have changed my mind.
Sorry, no direct refunds are available, although a new participant can self-edit for someone preregistered for a $5 fee. SeeActive.com for more about this service.
